Gearing up for the 2022 Innovators’ Guide release in January of 2023, Raleigh Founded is highlighting 10 Years of Companies. Today’s spotlight is RIot.
Founded in 2014, RIoT has grown into one of Raleigh Founded’s most notable success stories. Starting out as a meetup group, RIoT has evolved into a major non-profit dedicated to creating jobs in emerging technology. RIoT’s Executive Director Tom Snyder adds, “We host events and workshops around the US, lead an industry consortium of more than 90 global companies, and operate startup accelerator programs that are all focused on helping entrepreneurs and existing businesses to create new technology jobs and revenue.”
In recent years, RIoT has increased focus on supporting female, minority, and veteran founded companies and increased traction in more rural areas. Snyder points out that, “There are entrepreneurs everywhere, but not all communities have the resources that exist in a tech hub like Raleigh.” From RIoT’s home base at Raleigh Founded, RIoT is expanding to help more entrepreneurs in less-resourced communities.
